Our subsidiary in Croatia, the foundry Ferro-Preis d.o.o. works as a responsible industrial company on the implementation of the 17 goals for sustainable development, which were defined by the United Nations on an economic, social and ecological level. Ferro-Preis was mentioned by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce as a model for the commitment in the implementation of these goals, which aims at economic development, taking into account global challenges such as poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental destruction, peace and equality.
“Sustainable consumption and production is about doing more and better with less. It is also about decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation, increasing resource efficiency and promoting a sustainable way of life ”. (Source: Link)
In Ferro-Preis, material scrap and residues that arise during the production of gray cast iron and ductile iron castings (in accordance with the waste management permit) are continuously recycled. By using the best techniques available in Europe and investing in medium-frequency electric furnaces in the melting process, CO2 emissions have been significantly reduced.
