FERRO PREIS was founded in the mid-20th century in the city of Cakovec, Croatia, under the original name Foundry Cakovec (“Ljevaonica Cakovec”). Since then there has been a long tradition of development and production of grey cast iron (EN GJL) and ductile iron (EN GJS) products and castings for industry. In the year 1991, Foundry Cakovec became part of PREIS GROUP, based in Pernitz, Austria and the company name has been changed to Ferro-Preis d.o.o. Cakovec.
The company manufactures a variety of castings made of grey cast iron and ductile iron according to customer specifications, such as housings of electric motors, pump parts, bearing housings, gear castings and components for diverse industries. With an annual productions of approx. 10.000 tons and more than 200 employees, the company Ferro-Preis is one of leading foundries and producers in southeast Europe. The company provides clients with complete manufacturing solutions, consulting services and own design. As its own product under the brand name FP-PREIS SML, Ferro-Preis develops, manufactures and distributes the certified SML system of drainage pipes, fittings, couplings and other sewage products. We are confident in our success in the future and even stronger market presence.

Additional benefit for our customers is the possibility of 3D modeling and casting simulation, but also the possibility of cooperation with relevant faculties and institutes. We are trying to ensure maximum support to customers in developing new products. This allows us to achieve better work process optimization and, consequently, the higher quality of our products.
The production includes all necessary phases from development and design, pattern and core making shops, 4 different production lines, machining, surface protection to laboratory and testing facilities. Installed equipment and well organised production ensure high quality products, recognised in variety of applications on the market. Ferro-Preis production is certified according to ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2009 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007 requirements.
PREIS is able to offer various cast iron products, from tailor made products based on customer needs and design, up to serial production in high volumes. With more then 50 years of production and engineering experience, we are able to produce and supply high quality machined and coated products, applicable in the wide range of industry sectors.
Our history is our inspiration – Today, the PREIS Group employs more than 750 people at the productions sites in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia. The Group´s headquarter is located in Pernitz, Austria, and the company remains family owned.
